The Potenza microneedling treatment uses ultra fine needles and radiofrequency (RF) energy to penetrate the top layer of the skin and trigger the body’s natural healing process to regenerate new collagen and elastin. Unlike other skin revitalization treatments, Potenza can be performed on all skin types, anywhere on the body and any time of the year.
Potenza resurfaces the skin by creating evenly spaced microscopic injuries with an average depth of 0.5 to 4mm that are not visible to the naked eye. Your body responds to these injuries and initiates the healing process. Subsequently, your body begins to produce more collagen and elastin to heal these injuries.
Normally, your body produces these to maintain your skin and help it heal after an injury. However, the amount it produces regularly is not enough to prevent wrinkles or fade scars. Scar tissue that is already formed cannot be reversed by these compounds alone, as it has already done its job healing. Scars form because the skin is severely damaged. The Potenza RF microneedling procedure creates new controlled injuries and breaks up old scar tissue to allow the healing process to begin by producing collagen and elastin to heal these injuries properly. Next, we will schedule your appointment with one of our skin experts. Lastly, we ask that you come in with a clean face and the products you are currently using so we can ensure your home care is appropriate. If you need home care products we can provide them for you at a discounted price.
Down Time
The micro channels can stay open for up to 48 hours, so it is crucial for you to use the appropriate products post procedure. You will most likely be red/flushed for up to 24 hours and feel a texture to the skin as the micro channels heal.
There will be microscopic scabs for about a week, so expect to see a bit of flaking skin for a day or two.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Your number depends on the severity of the areas we are treating. The NP will assess which course of action best suits your desired result. We recommend anywhere from 3-5 treatments for maximum results, and packages are available at a discounted rate.
